The numbers, with their sources and dates.
Every figure on these pages names the study it comes from, the sample, the year of the data and what exactly it measures. Where two sources disagree, both are shown side by side and the difference is explained, never averaged away. Each page carries the date its figures were last checked and a change log, so a date only moves when a number does.
Architecture firm benchmarks 2026
What architecture firms earn and bill: profit, utilisation, realisation, collection days and win rate, with the source and year behind each figure.
- Operating profit, multiplier, utilisation, realisation, collection days, win rate and revenue per person, each with its source, sample and data year
- Why AIA, Deltek, PSMJ and BQE disagree, and which figure fits a one-person or five-person firm
- BQE’s finding that rate and multiplier predict profit while utilisation barely does, with the vendor caveat attached
Architecture market outlook 2027
Latest Architecture Billings Index, AIA’s 2027 construction forecast, residential demand, the remodelling forecast and UAE and India growth, with dates.
- The latest ABI readings, with the month the next release is due
- Small-firm backlog of 3.1 months against 6.3 months for all firms
- The 2027 nonresidential forecast by sector, and why +3.0% is not a residential recovery
Residential design trends 2026 to 2027
What US homeowners are asking architects for in 2026, every trend labelled by its evidence, and which 2027 reports are still to come.
- The five numbers behind “design for staying put”, each with source and date
- A rising, fading and contested table with an evidence label on every row
- Room by room signals for kitchens, baths, outdoor rooms, mudrooms, offices and ADUs
AI adoption in architecture firms
How many architects use AI, by survey: 6% of US architects regularly, 27% of small firms day to day, 59% of UK practices and 70% of larger A&E firms.
- Five surveys side by side, with sample, definition of use and date
- Why the answer runs from 6% to 78% depending on the question
- What firms use AI for, according to the surveys rather than the tool vendors

Method
What counts as a source here.
Primary first
AIA, Deltek, PSMJ, BQE, Harvard JCHS, NKBA and Houzz, read from the release or report itself wherever it is public.
Labelled when it is not
A figure that comes from a republication, a company estimate or a vendor's own data says so in the sentence that uses it.
Never a rule of thumb
No unsourced percentages, no "studies show", no vendor marketing presented as data. If nobody has published a number, the page says that instead.
